Maine Freshwater Fishing

Sebago lakes region

Richardson Lake

Thompson Lake

Happy anglers I guided in August on Sebago Lake with lake trout and  salmon.
It was a beautiful morning and good fishing.

This is my 22' Hydra Sports I use to guide lake fishing. It is well equipped for deep water trolling necessary in the lakes region of Maine.

I guide Freshwater Fishing on Sebago Lake, Thompson Lake, Richardson Lake and other numerous lakes and ponds in Maine

The Lakes Region of Maine offers anglers many different opportunities  to fish for a variety of species. The clean, deep beautiful lakes and ponds are home to sport fish such as salmon, brook trout, lake trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, pike and other species. We fish these waters trolling and casting either with fly rod or spinning gear. On the larger lakes I guide with the 22' Hydra Sports boat that is equipped with 3 Cannon downriggers and comfortable seating. I also offer clients  fishing on small secluded ponds from a small boat or canoe. Whatever style, species or location you wish to fish, you will be guided by a fishing professional with extensive experience and local knowledge.

Captain John  guides freshwater charters in the surrounding lakes including Sebago lake, Thompson Lake, Richardson Lale where we fish for salmon, brook trout, lake trout, small mouth bass and large mouth bass. Living on Thompson Lake and a fulltime professional fishing guide, Capt. John has extensive knowledge of the areas he fishes both fresh and saltwater bringing anglers the best fishing opportunities.

I spend a great deal of time guiding on Sebago lake, Thompson Lake, Richardson Lake

Sebago lake and Thompson lake are great fishing lakes for lake trout, salmon and bass! Trolling and casting techniques are used to fish theses deep cold water lakes. Richardson is a great wild lake for salmon, lake trout and brook trout.

North Woods Excursions

Travel to remote and beautiful  fishing locations in the North Woods of Maine to fish for brook trout! Fish remote waters known only to a select few. I have areas that I fish for brook trout that very rarely or ever fished by other anglers. This is some of the best brook trout fishing the northeast has to offer. I take a very limited clientele and offer these trips on a custom tailored basis only. Call for more information on these custom excursions .

What is a Master Maine Guide

Master certification means that a person has acquired experience in a specialized classification that exceeds the minimum requirements necessary to be licensed as a guide in that classification. To become a Master Maine Guide, a guide must have been working as a guide for ten years, and have had at least five years professional experience in their specialized classification. It should be noted that the process of obtaining a License as a Registered Maine Guide is the most difficult in the country, which is why Maine Guides are held in such high regard.

I noticed these anglers on the way out to the fishing grounds and I asked them if they needed assistance. However it was explained to me that sometimes when fishing for striped bass an elevated position is needed for the best visibility.
Warning: These are experienced anglers with special rock fishing training and equipment.  Do not attempt to do this on your own!
